Tackle football for Ballston Spa typically starts August 1st each year. Signups are typically held during May and are conducted in person.

Tackle Football
Coaching

Tackle football coaching requires an application be submitted to the board of directors. There is an interview process and background checks conducted. Decisions on coaching are made in the Spring. Coaches accepted will need to attend risk management courses, and all head coaches must also attend a coaching certifcation course. We welcome anyone in the communituy to step forward to apply for coaching positions it does not have to be a family member of a child. Applications for coaching are available here.


The typical football staff on a team consists of a head coach, up to 5 assistants and one trainer position. In addition there is a medic, commissioner and coordinator position available. Anyone interested in these positions should contact the head coach for the team and/or the football coordinator for more information or to express interest in filling these roles.

Team Commissioner requires risk management training and a background check.

Team medic requires proof of a valid CPR/First Aid certification and a background check.

Team coordinator has no specific prerequisites.

Camps
Tackle football camps/clinics for Ballston Spa may be held in July, usually are 1 week in duration and are conducted on the basis of interest.  Check the website and/or Facebook page for specific dates and times for signups and clinics/camps.
